Cylinder 4 has long been the most commonly damaged part of the Subaru EJ turbo engine due to a lack of coolant flow.
The 1/3 side of engine has coolant existing to cool the turbo, while the 2/4 side only exits to the crossover.There exists reduced flow at the back of the head.
This kit balances the coolant flow by diverting it from the head to the heater core lines, reducing knock and ringland failure risks.
