Changing oil weight might help but I'd probably look at the basics first. Make sure the lever adjustment is within spec, mine needs tweaking sometimes.

I second what alice lu said. maybe worth mentioning which specific spacer brand you got? Would help others avoid the same headache.
Oil leaks can be tricky to diagnose sometimes. Could be the surface finish or maybe even tiny cracks that aren't visible. Hope you get it sorted soon mate.
Mine was doing the same thing, rotating the shaft helped a bit.
