Best spots in Skagit County for fresh oysters or clams?

  • So I’m planning a weekend up in Skagit County with a couple of friends, and we’re all huge fans of fresh oysters and clams — raw, grilled, you name it. Last time we were up there, we just kind of stumbled into a waterfront place, and while it was decent, it didn’t blow us away. This time I’d love to go in with some solid local recommendations. Not really looking for fancy or high-end — more like laid-back spots where the shellfish is fresh and the vibe is casual. Anyone know places like that around Skagit?

  • Totally hear you. Skagit has a bunch of seafood places, but the best ones aren’t always the flashiest. A couple of months ago, I went on a little seafood hunt myself and came across a directory of Seafood Restaurants in Skagit County . It really helped narrow things down — ended up at this low-key spot just outside La Conner where they had these buttery steamed clams I still think about. Definitely check out the list there, especially if you’re after something a bit more hidden from the tourist crowd.

  • I was actually up in Skagit not long ago, just driving through on my way back from Anacortes. Didn’t have time to stop for seafood, but the scenery was unreal. It’s one of those places where even a quick roadside diner feels like it has character. I can totally see why people would want to dig around for the lesser-known food joints there. Maybe next time I’ll plan a proper stop and explore a bit more myself.
